My Custom Tailor USA visit

Anyone planning on getting measured by them while they're here? I'm wondering if they would remain not a bespoke tailor even if they've got your measurements made by their people? Would they still operate off of set size patterns or off of your measurements?

I have the 9am Weds. appointment in LA.

I am getting a vest pant solid color to go with a coat I have [pant and coat different color]

then see if they can match a suit with a vest. if not may go with a new vest suit or a vest pant same color to contrast with the suit jacket.

I have for a regular linen suit not bad but a few issues.

I thought, since he's in town, it can't hurt to get measured. then when/if I choose something similar to what Rooster just received, I'll feel better about the measurements they're working off of. Perhaps I'll even bring a pair of wahmaker pants to show them the waist and rear sections...

Ok, I arrived at about 9:30 for my 9:00 appointment [I left at 7:30 and yahoo said 40 minutes ]

first he could not match my suit for a vest [:eusa_doh: didn't think he really would]

I went with a light camel for a vest and slightly darker pair of pants. I will be able to wear the vest with either my brown suit or the sport coat I brought to the fitting. the pants I wore did not really go with the sport coat but I can wear it with the suit coat and vest.

the vest will have a collar.

Next A classic Hollywood, without the pinched waist in a Navy pinstripe 41/2" lapels 1 1/2" cuffs
the vest will have a collar as well

He took standing measurements [my hip will never be the same:eusa_doh: ] he also took some pictures. he did want to up grade the suit material but since I want to be smaller soon, and he said they can only change it down 2 sizes, I was not going to go with the more expensive suit. I did go with the canvas structure

I should be seeing a package the end of October

I did today, good time was had by all. I ordered a vest and pants as well as a Navy blue pinstripe 3 piece suit. If this suit works out, it would be the ONLY way to get a new suit. :eusa_clap

The hardest part is waiting. Until the items are received, you will worry (will it be cut right), rejoice (I will look great), have regrets (did I spend too much) and become blase (whatever will be, will be). However, when that package arrives, you will be on top of the world.

the waiting is GOING to slowly get worse I have a dark brown suit and a patterned brown sport coat, I will be able to use the vest for both and the pants too. I want the sports coat for Friday and the new suit [Navy pinstripe] for Saturday night on the Queen Mary. I have a pair of botany 500 spectators in brown and black for them I may not be vintage, but I hope it will at least look good

now, shirts, ties a new FEDORA "but honey, the Indy hat only works with the leather jacket, I need a DIFFERENT brown hat for the suits...HONEST" oops, and a GRAY fedora too:eusa_doh:


I would suggest that people that are going to be measured by them, take a printout of the suit with the various options already marked
