It is still quite cold in Ohio, but that doesn't stop thoughts of warm weather, Hawaiian shirts, and Panama Hats.
I got this one a few months ago - just in time to go into storage, awaiting appropriate weather. But soon, we'll all be in our straws. I'll be glad to wear this one out and about at last!

It took a lot of effort for Art to fit my oddly shaped head. I think he was a bit stunned at the extra-extra long oval shape my skull has. I asked for something very 1940's, and much like one Canadave showed us awhile back, with the magical Fawcett ribbon treatment, and of course, he overdelivered. The ribbon has been seen here before on other hats. I'm pleased beyond words to have this beautiful bit of it on my own hat. The sweatband is perfed with my initials and holes for a bit of air. Though it isn't (and I did not want) the tightest fino-fino weave one can buy, it is, indeed, one very sweet hat!
Thanks Art, for making up something I can wear with pride.

THAT is a beautiful hat! I love the color of the ribbon and the signature bow treatment. I can see why you have been itching to wear it. (Come on, admit it, you've worn it in the house with a tropical shirt at least once this winter, haven't you?)

I know the feeling

I, too, have an AF panama I am dying to wear. Our weather here in south TN has been in the mid 60s the last few days and I have to admit to admiring it in the mirrow a few times. Your hat is a very nice looking style and I particularly like the ribbon treatment. I wish I had his signature ribbon put on mine. :eusa_clap

Excellent hat! I like the sweatband treatment.
It looks like I will be stuck with felt again this Summer but your pictures are inspiring me to get a straw.

And no mustard!

Does look wonderful! My work monitor isn't the best, but on first pass, I thought it was kind of a rough-ish felt, and not straw!

Some Panamas leave me cold, but that's the bee's knees.

GREAT PANAMA SCOT!!!

Love that block on that hat! Did Art have the panama body, or did you get it elsewhere?
Although you know I like the thin ribbons, that ribbon really makes that hat look classy!
Post us a pic of it on if you will.

You'll be needing a nice three piece linen peaked lapel belted back suit to wear with that fine looking hat! No, I don't know where you could get a three piece linen peaked lapel belted back suit, but that hat would look good with almost anything. :eusa_clap

Beautiful hat! Now I can't wait until Derby Day. This is generally the first day each year when I get out my (second) favourite panama. I still haven't found one quite like my first - it was an extremely fine soft panama I could not afford to replace even if I found another of that quality and style. I very anxious young Weimeraner pulled the hat through the top of his crate while his sister was out in the field. There was little left besides the ribbon and a few fragments in the back of my truck...
