Beginning 12. August I will be in Columbia, SC, working on my Master's degree. If any members are familiar with the area, I would greatly appreciate suggestions for things to see and do. I have not spent any great time in the South since I lived in Atlanta six years ago, and I'm very excited about the move.

I have a Master's from USC, and am very familiar with the town. There's plenty to do in Columbia, and it's 2 hours from the beach and the mountains. Depends on what you like to do, really.
