I'm not a fan of the "Boston Blackie kind" either.
@busmatt - That is indeed a fine looking moustache. I would love to end up wit your results.
The worse stage for me is every time i get a cold. I love a mustache but it’s just plain gross when you have a cold.I think it suits you, wearing a moustache is your choice and don’t let the naysayers put you of, the worst stage for me was the dodgy seventies adult film star look but it’s now doing ok

I sometimes heavily wax the end and go full on English but I’m off today so natural it is.
Grooming is quite important, I shave every day and then rub an alum block over and use post shave balm, the ‘tache is washed in beard shampoo, oiled, balmed and waxed if needed.
I use Captain Fawcetts products but others are available.

I applaud your diligence, @busmatt, in maintenance, your daily multistage prep for the day’s wear, as well as your obvious appreciation for the fundamentals of mustache characterizations.
But what i really want to know is when one has a cold and a coiffed and prepped mustache, how do you keep from blowing nasal exudate all over it? It seems the longer and more elaborate the worse.
Do you have to wash and re-prep after each occurrence? Does the oil and wax somehow prevent the bacteria-laden secretions from contaminating or discoloring our lip wear?
Personally, i can’t wash fast enough and inevitable repeat the process for days on end, typically.
Like i said it’s gross and i just want to shave it off each cold.
Thanks
B
Hello Everyone,
I would like your opinions on moustaches. Presently I am teaching English in Vietnam and any facial hair is considered odd by the masses. What do you think? View attachment 178116 View attachment 178117 View attachment 178118 View attachment 178119
Do any of you guys use any beard moisturizers or balms in winter? I have never used any products like this but lately, my beard started itching, I also noticed some dandruff on my chin. This happens every winter, but this time it gets even worse. I'm currently reading this page about moisturizers, which one should I get first? A balm or conditioner? Thanks.

You can experiment with balms and oils to find one you like. Also washing your beard with dandruff shampoo like you would your head will help with removing the flakes. I have never had dandruff or any other skin issues until this year. For some reason I suddenly developed a bit of psoriasis on my head. Besides the actual treatment for the psoriasis, using a t-sal shampoo completely stopped the flakes.Do any of you guys use any beard moisturizers or balms in winter?
