This British site is vintage GOLD!! I have been watching clips non-stop for days!!! I started out with a link there with a 'Make do and Mend news-reel from the 40s and just keep on watching everything I could find! And it's not just British clips, they are from all over!

I love going straight to the source for ideas on authenticity and on how the everyday person dressed in 20s, 30s and 40s. These clips show REAL people in real clothes and how they wore them, as well as their hair, shoes and accessories.

My pet niggle is when so-called vintage experts say (no-one from here btw), 'They didn't wear that in the day,' (an example being; lace up flats with short socks in the 30s) and yet they DID! I have loads of pics of 30s ladies dressing casually this way in summer. You just have to do your research. We shouldn't just look to Hollywood and the movie stars of the time to find out what people wore and how they wore it

All you have do is look in original fashion magazines, old photos and clips like this of the day to find out this kind of info. Anyway... I digress. Here is the main link and a few clothing links to begin. Enjoy

I've been watching them for a while. Really good films. They've got a fan site on Facebook that notifies you when new ones are ready to be seen. :eusa_clap
