Domestic archaeology department: I found this stuff in the basement of the house I lived in for ten years in Brooklyn (where else?) My landlord's family had been Brooklyn cops from about 1885 through the twenties. There was a huge folder of memorabilia, mugshots, clippings, etc. that I sent to them, but this batch was left out. Anyhoo, these poor dummies decided to rob their parents' store in Brooklyn and didn't get away with it. They hired a couple of punks to do the dirty work, and the punks bumped off a couple of guards carrying the payroll on the subway. All the scared guilty looking faces in these mugshots got the chair at Sing Sing about a year and a half after the crime. The crime took place on November 14, 1923. The brothers were Barlow Diamond, 27 and Joseph Diamond, 21.

The accessories:
Ahhh . . . the Golden Age.
