Mister Freedom Lawrence

I'm sure this is a well-known jacket but I was surprised there's not more discussion about it. Any owners care to share some pics of there's?

I've admired them for a while, as well as the Campus. I appreciate the casual Cossack look and thought it would be a fun style to try. The Lawrence adds the extra interest of the unique paneling, and the vintage rug patterns take the casual style to another level. But the Lawrence was always more than I wanted to spend, so I set up an eBay search years ago and waited. Got a hit over the weekend. Wrong size but it reminded me. I head over to the MF website and I see a really beautiful pattern:

How had I missed this one in my dozen or so previous visits? A really unique pattern amongst the other Lawrence jackets, much more my colors and style. And hold the phone, it's my size. Had to double take the price... wasn't this jacket more expensive? The website is telling me $975. Some kind of Black Cyber sale? Then I remember there's a 15% off code for a first order, sweetening the deal. A few minutes later and the deed is done.

I'm psyched! Should have it some time next week and I'll try to get some pics. In the meantime, would love to see or hear about other Lawrence jackets out there to keep me occupied.

Congrats on the purchase,. I've owned several MF pieces and have never been disappointed in the quality., I'm sure this wont disappoint you either.
Its a bold pattern and along with it being an unfinished jacket, it will be sure to attract attention.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone post about these on TFL, ( Maybe @konadog ) but those I've seen on IG look pretty cool after they darken and break in a bit etc..

keep us posted on how it all turns out

Thanks, yeah I’m excited. Like you said, the darkening and breaking in will be key to the look. Natural leather doesn’t look that good when new. Once I’ve got some color on it, I’m hoping it will have a somewhat casual look, as I’m a somewhat casual person. Maybe bohemian is the word.

Wow, love it! This is a jacket that asks for turquoise jewelry. And that rug pattern is another of my favorites.

Even the first picture looks great. I’m hoping I can get a little color like that on the leather quickly. The baby pig starting tone is not where it’s at.

I’m definitely in baby pig territory but I don’t mind it as much as I thought. And the pattern looks even better in person. What I thought was a faded black background is actually a rich brown.

The rug panels are stiff and drape less than the leather. But I expect they will loosen up. The leather is lovely. Good medium thickness but it’s already very pliable. I’ve owned only a handful of full grain leather jackets, but this is definitely the softest as new. And I’ve also owned jackets for years that never got this soft. Super comfortable.

I’m pretty happy with the fit. Slightly on the roomy side (extra material in the back panel) but I don’t mind that with this style and it will allow layering in the coldest months. I pulled in the side straps a bit and that seems to look better than not using them.

Some mediocre pic with my old phone:

And I’m attempting to tan it though not much progress made today with a winter sun.

Looks great on you!

Yes the Lawrence is a larger fit compared to their campus jacket. I layer up a little more with mine, i know some folks that have also sized down with this jacket.
