That's one I don't have. I used to like that style very much but I think I would rather wear a pith helmut.

I think this is the new type of cap that Italian-Wiseguy was talking about.

Here is something you don't see every day. I think this is Isreali.

Baggers has brought to my attention that is not Isreali but possibly Polish.

Nope. I think it's a WW2 Polish Paratrooper's beret. I don't know what the "Jerusalem" cross and globe and olive branch badges are, but the large winged eagle is definitely the Polish eagle with the two stars below that would identify a Lieutenant.

The dark grey beret was worn by Polish paras belonging to units raised in Britain and forming part of the 1st Airborne Division which was dropped on Arnhem during Operation Market Garden, launched on 17 September 1944. BTW, the anniversary of the Polish 1st Independent Parachute Brigade's jump during this operation is tomorrow.

Cheers!

Thanks very much for the correction Baggers. I truely appreciate the help in identifying some of the caps I have. I am embarrassed that I don't know more about the hats I have.

Some time in the next year, I'd like to see a picture of you in the desert, wearing a Herman Meyer cap...

What a coincidence!

I'm thinking of getting one of them from him-

That's what made me mention it.

What do you think of it-
-quality, materials, authenticity of construction, shape and style...

Sorry to hi-jack you Douglas.

BT,
In short, I like it. But so as to not hijack Douglas' thread any further, let me PM you later today with some detailed impressions.

Cheers!

Hijack away guys. I was hoping others might join in on the military fun. There is plenty of room on the bus.
