Have been researching recently the fantastic story of Michael Mcpartland, one of the 6,000
troops who stormed Dieppe in August 1942. 4,400 were killed, captured or missing in action.
He was captured, imprisoned and tortured but managed to escape, make his way down to
the Charente and spent eight months with a sabotage resistance group in the area.
