Melbourne has had a creative spirit for a long time and has been perceived as a style city since the turn of the century.'' Vintage is also considerably cheaper here than in Paris or New York, she says..."

On a related note, down the road from my house, a BARBERSHOP opened up this week.
Not a hair-dresser's. Not a stylist's. Not a beautyshop. Not a hair-and-scalp doctor's...
a BARBERSHOP.
With an honest-to-goodness barber's pole out the front. I haven't seen one of those in years.
And it has a really sweet vintage look to it. Dunno about the cuts that they provide, though. Maybe one day I should try it out.
As Tootie Smith observed in "Meet Me in St. Louis":
"Gee. Wasn't I lucky to be born in my favourite city?"
