I'd like to know what song or type of music they were playing in S2, E11 "The Jet Set" on Mad Men when Don is by the pool in LA in the first pool scene. I haven't finished the episode, but it doesn't say the music credited at the end ever. I know it was some type of easy listening, but it was something specific I don't know. Anyone know?

You might try writing to AMC and asking?

Look on iTunes for music from the shows, too. I'm always going there to find music I've heard in movies or on TV.
I've looked there, but thanks for the suggestion. The reason I couldn't really find it was because it wasn't edited over as selected by the director (or anyone, I don't know) but actually played on set by musicians or from a recording.

At 6:06 the song is 'Misirlou' by Martin Denny. I know because I have it on 'The best of Martin Denny's Exotica' cd which is very cool. My parents also had it on a Martin Denny album when we were kids...hehe.

You can buy it at Amazon or just download the one tune on iTunes.

Yes...I have a bit of an 'aural' photographic memory (so to speak) when it comes to music. Friends frequently call me up to go to their 'music quiz nights' with them because they know I can help win them stuff. Glad I'm useful for something ;)

But really, thanks for introducing me to a new genre I'm only listening to-exotica-it seems every song is good, unlike many other genres it's a trip to a different land; really visionary composers and performers-Martin Denny; Les Baxter...
