Looking for vented straw- semi-colado or similar

I hope this is not ground that has been trod to death before. I apologize in advance if so.

I bought a lovely panama from panama bob last year amd have enjoyed it but with summer coming on again I am looking a new straw but one that has an open weave. For some reason I am running into dead ends. I have tried Panama Bob but see nothing on his site. Panama Hats Direct says contact them to discuss and that has not worked out. You more experienced gentlemen may be able to point me in a proper direction. I would be greatly appeciative.

Wally, a couple of people you might want to contact are Art Fawcett (he has semi-colado bodies available from time to time - I have one and love it) and also Tom Gomez (Tom-n-Perris on the forum). I've seen these hats from Tom as well and he does a very nice job on straw hats.

I wore my VS semi-colado for much of last summer and they are fantastic hats for the warm weather.

I hope you can track one down.

DJH thank you for the note. Tom does nice work and he had a hat body but the price was just more than I could spend. I would like to stay under 120 or so.

It will be hard to get a semi for less than 120.00

You might get better results by spelling it 'calado'.

Let us know if you go with anything. I too am set on getting a vented straw.

Thanks OG I wore the Selentino Galaxy you sold me to the Cincinnati International Wine Festival last weekend and got several compliments. It has certainly found a happy home on my noggin
