Looking at a couple possibilities...need some feedback (jacket).

So guys and gals, been thinking of a new jacket. Initially, I was hooked on those Thedi racers with the diamond shoulders, etc. - possibly even in the two-tone or just the natural hide.
Then, @Carrie @ Thurston Bros. started posting some natural Aero's and I think I really want something between the two makes in a natural hide. Leaning towards a simple style like the Buco racer, Aero "7" or Board Racer.
I really need to drop 20 lbs. All right in the mid-section. You can see it in my pics from June in Ireland.
Interested in your collective thoughts as we're in jacket weather limbo.
I tend to want zip-sleeves, so keep that in mind. I also don't zip up often, FWIW unless I go somewhere colder...

Hi Butte! I have the Board Racer modified to Buco (in black goat) and it is a favourite of mine. I am not sure that natural will look good after some use. It looks great when brand new but could look dirty after a while

I agree @plainsman about the natural, especially in the collar area. My Indy jacket which is dark brown is completely "Black" in the neck area and I hate it, it seems dirty... so I imagine with a natural leather...

I think your build would suit an Aero cafe racer, I just ordered a Sheene in cxl brown.
I love the natural but also would hesitate if this jacket is going to receive tons of wear. Otherwise it looks amazing!

ps I had a padded Thedi racer but did find the chest a little tight compared to the Aero Racer. Both slim fitting but more chest room with the Aero.

If you like the Natural, I'd take a look at Thedi's cognac....it looks amazing, and there isn't the uncertainty of the "tan-it-yourself" method. Thedi runs small, but you can put in a custom fit. I think he can do a pretty mean Buco style, or collared type.

Thanks all. I knew that the natural piece would draw some hesitation, and I'm sure you're all right, but I'm so torn on that.
I like the Thedi design with two-tone which could alleviate some of that mess. Dunno, am I too old to rock that?

Too old?!? That's nuts man. You take care of yourself and it shows. Frankly I can't see how you need to lose any weight. I think with your stature you could wear whatever the Hell you want Butte, and you'll look good doing it.
I like the natural hide too. A CR or a Seven would be awesome. I also like Handymike's suggestion about the cognac. It's a very pretty leather. Something about developing the natural stuff on its own...it's very appealing and mysterious.

Mysterious- yes, but each tannery has different results. So far, I love Tenjin works, but I'm still not sold on the Mister Freedom. I'll hold judgement on Vicenza for a couple years. Go on Butte...show us how it's done :)

Scott, I'm on the same page as @sweetfights with going with a CR pattern over BR given your build, maybe a bit similar to mine except you are probably half a foot bigger than I am in all directions! :D I suppose you could request a size 46 CR and a size 48 BR from Insurrection as fit jackets and go from there to decide in which direction to go. The natural should be great as long as the jacket is a closet queen. Otherwise, my crystal ball sees a seal Vicenza in your future.

I gotta go off the board on this one, @Fanch. So, nothing like I've had before, and @SpeedRcrX hit the spot for me. That was the one I wanted, albeit in the two-tone with brown. However, the green says "kiss my arse" quite well and that's what I'm looking for! Still not convinced I can rock it (minus the needed slim-down of course) but maybe I should just not care, I know @ton312!

Speaks to me.

I was about to say the same thing. You seriously don't need to lose any weight. Nor do anything else nor worry about nothing.

About the jacket... Dunno. Why not something with buttons? I always really dig how those Shawl collared ones look on people or the Royale kinda deal. Don't know much about these jackets but they're always really cool. Actually like 'em more than the CR, just I'm too tired to be switching to another style and go thru all the trial and error story again. . .

Heheheh I knew you would be receptive to my suggestion!

Like I said before, I simply know it will be a perfect jacket for you! In my mind eyes I see you sporting that jacket and completely rock it!

Guys help me convincing Scott to see the "light" on this one [emoji16]

Go Scott!!!
