SoCal, SoFla...You need to be someplace warm (else you won't get much chance to take her out what with snow, salt and rain), and someplace where people are comfy with some degree of display (else you may get your windwings snapped off or your paint keyed just for someone else's $#!!s 'n giggles). Maybe Arizona, too. Parts of Texas. Not just anywhere in Texas, unless you want a gunrack in a concours grade convertible, 'cause when a Texan makes fun of you, he's serious.

Oh, I don't know, classic cars are everywhere. We have plenty, though, for the most part, you only see them in the summer months. We seem to be especially stocked with vintage Mercedes.

This car is a rare beauty and I even like the color. ;)

What a piece of rolling elegance!

You folks in warm climates are spoiled. I could never become lathergic looking at masterpeice as beautiful as that. In cold climates you wait eons for a beauty like this to step 'n strut on a nice day.

The best things in life are worth waiting for!!!

For Sale - 1917 Packard

You like vintage Packards? I got just the deal for you! A steal at something over a million bucks:

Packard Manor. It's in Chautauqua Institution. A mere 24 rooms. Lake View. Nice summer cottage.

Sure, it's a nice flop, but in N.Y. state the property taxes are killers.

Buying the house is only the beginning, although it could look a lot better with an old Packard parked in front.

When I was a kid in the 50's the owner was a PR guy for General Motors, and there were always a couple of big flashy Cadillacs in front of it. But it really needs a big old late 20's or early 30's phaeton or limo parked there. It just went through a huge renovation. Nice place. It was built for the owner of Packard Motor Cars, and since he was blind he had an exact duplicate built in Pennsylvania, tho not as elaborately decorated. It looks old and Tudory, but it's built from poured concrete. Like a fortress. Anyway, it's for sale, and yes, the taxes are a pretty penny, tho not as bad as Long Island.
