Liner swap

I have a chance to snag a gamebird (w/ liner) measuring 6 7/8 to replace the missing liner of a linerless gamebird that fits my 7 1/4 - 7 3/8 noggin.
Do you think the size disparity between the two would make this impractical? [huh]

I have taken liners from 6-7/8 hats and put them in 7-1/4 and there was not a problem. The smaller ones seemed to have had the same size liner as the bigger ones, just gathered in more at the split.

Yeah GT, I am guessing it is a bit of a crap shoot.

THANK YOU!!!!... for telling me what I want to hear (LOL). I suspect such-like were not specifically sized, but that is just a hunch.

I have a great old, old OR that had the first style of "cowboy watering horse" liner, back when it was embroidered, not printed.

The hat, which I found for about nothin, was in new condition, but tiny ... under 7.

I have saved back the OR incase I meet a 3-year-old hat collector, but I removed the embroidered liner and carefully used it in a different Stetson, and I am 7 3/8 to 7 1/2.

It works fine, though you DO have to be careful with the depth. It works best if the hat you move it into is blocked shallow.
