Lexol.....?

I just picked up some "Lexol" to try out for the first time. I seen these wipes, they had them in the cleaner and the conditioner, so I picked up 1 of each. I haven't gotten around to using them yet on account that I just picked them up last night. I thought they might be easier to use than the spray, also handier. Has anyone here ever tried them? [huh]

I've never tried their quick wipes, but their leather care products are very good. I doubt you'd go wrong using their quick wipes.

Its a good product, I've used them on old jackets, never on a hat though.

I've used Lexol products on saddles and harness but haven't used the wipes. [huh]

My wife got these for me.....but she said you can find them at any "Tack" or horse supply store. Others in here mentioned that you can get it in auto supply stores as well, but I doubt you can find the wipes there. I'll be sure to let you all know how they work out though.

I've asked this on several threads, but no answer yet - will Lexol stain the felt if I make a mess while treating the sweat band?

Also, can I use it on leather car seats?

When I use Lexol on the sweat band I turn the sweat out pour the Lexol into a bowl dip my finger into it and carefully apply it to both sides of the sweat.

Also "Lexol" is the brand name. They have several products, cleaner, conditioner, etc.

What you use for various applications may differ. In the horse world when lexol (originally they only had one product) came out their was concern about the product rotting the stiching on tack.

Lexol products should be available at any tack or feed store.

Thanks for the info - one of the problems with the hat I have is that the sweat is pretty dry feeling. I'm afraid to turn it out fully, as I feel it may crack or pop stitches. I think I'll use the finger-bowl approach described above with some plastic film behind the band until it softens enough to turn out and treat fully. Cheers.

Oh, at the risk of flogging a single dealer, Manhattan Wardrobe Supply is where I bought Lexol Neatsfoot Leather Dressing, which is specifically labeled as 'non-darkening' for treating light colored leather.

Regarding lexol stains on felt - I treat the sweatband before using the white gas for cleaning the felt, and the white gas (naptha) has effectively removed any sign of the occasional lexol drip on the felt.
