Knox 20 Custom Edge - 7 5/8

I've been waiting for quite a while to find a hat in my size that had a monetary distinction to it (15, 20, 25, 100, etc.), and two came along yesterday. This is one of the two. This is also the first stingy brim I've ever seen that has a wind trolley, but admittedly, I haven't been looking at hats for as long as most of you have. Any idea of the age? More detailed pictures when it arrives, of course. Oh -- if anybody has a Knox box laying around that they'd take a few bucks for, let me know!

The knox might be late 1950's ... The brim says 60's...the Dobbs I'm going to say early 1960's. I had a Golden Coach with the same box. Reeded sweat band, Very stiff felt. Nice hat but it never fit right so I sold it. Wish I still had it only for the quality of the hat as a collectible. But what the heck...you can only wear one at a time...[huh]

When you magnify it you can see the details in the store windows. Man I wish that was the ol' main street in my town..

We have old shops like that but they're either empty or Rent a Centers...

DJ, Nice Hat!

I recently picked up a Knox Hallmark Series Custom Edge in chocolate brown of ebay. There are some minor moth divots but otherwise it looks like it was never worn. I posted it on another thread.
I also snagged a 7 5/8 Stetson Soverign today. Posted in another thread.
Now I'd like to find a Stetson Whippet and a Dobbs Gamebird. If I do, I'll stop buying but, keep looking.

Early 60's ?????

I have an identical dove gray that I found at the Flea market.
Some of the nices Felt I have ever "FELT"
On a personal note, as a 7 5/8's I am sure glad you like short brimed hat's. That leaves less competion on the old Wide ones.

You know what I like so much about stingy brims? How casual they can be. They go with virtually anything.

Response from the seller's account when I inquired about the shipping status since I haven't heard anything from them:

"my husband is out of the country, family illness, i will try to do my best next week to get it to you. he ususally takes care of all this. thanks for being patient"

I know, I know, it's entirely possible, but eBay is officially at Boy Who Cried Wolf status with me -- everyone has a reason, don't they?

It finally arrived today! It is very stingy but very nice. The other Knox 20 I have is a bit different and slightly nicer as the sweatband has the adjustable sizing thing (I don't know what it's called) and the felt is a bit nicer but, all in all, this is a fine one, wind trolley and all. The color is a deep charcoal gray.
