Plug ins...? ( well..... maybe) The ones you plug in an electrical outlet room deodorizer.
I use Dreft detergent for wool stuff I buy, but don't think it's gonna does the trick. I have Lysol odor eliminator, but that's harsh, but maybe just once won't hurt the wool ?

If anyone has a better way, please let me know !

There was a thread, or at least a few posts on this. Fabreeze is impossible to get out. Ozone is your best bet, but even that I think failed with the foul plug-in odor. Sorry.

sprinkled baking soda all over and letting it sit outside. Then wash in Dreft. We'll see, keep you posted.

Update.... smell is gone.

It’s just initially buying second hand wool from eBay. Nobody knows where it came from or what it was exposed to. Once it’s taken care of then l’m good. Trust me l know about damaging wool. I don’t even wash it long in the bath tub that long by hand with luke warm water and am careful if how l handle it while washing. Guess if Dreft is gentle enough it’s good enough for me. I suppose baking soda probably helped as well a Dreft. But l can get some charcoal/baking soda mixture set up for my next adventure! I read about guys not washing for 30+ years. I plan on hanging my gear out every night after hunting.

My wife is asthmatic and have to be careful of what l do in the house.
