Johnson Leathers Padded Jacket
Made in San Francisco, USA
Tag 40
Selling my incredible JL jacket. This is his stock mi-500 riding jacket with a US Cycle "Made In San Francisco" label. This has quilted padding at the shoulder and elbows but is not an armored jacket. I acquired this secondhand in 2014 and wore and loved it until my belly outgrew it in 2018. It's one of the finest jackets of this style that I've ever handled (seriously) and it's broken in beautifully.
As you can see from the photos, the jacket has tons of lovely patina but no significant issues. The hardware (main zip, zip sleeves, and snaps) all function perfectly. The handwarmer pockets with zip closure are all leather lined (no cotton canvas). The original stock quilted interior liner is in excellent condition, very stable.
The jacket fits spot of for a size 40. The sleeves have shrunken up as much as they ever will and stand at 24.5 inches, so this won't work well for those with monkey arms.
Here are the measurements:
chest 22.5
shoulder 19 1/4
sleeve 24 1/2
front length 25 1/4
rear length 26
The only 'issues' are a single tiny burn on one part of the liner that was present since I acquired it and, after much wear, has never grown. Also, the front of the interior horizontal pocket dips a bit in front from use and the bag of this pocket has a hole. If you plan to use that pocket, the pocket bag (this one isn't leather) would need some simple mending (definately a DIY job with basic hand-sewing).
This is one of those hides that aged with a lot of magic. There is no wear at all on the inner neck and the leather does not need any attention. Everything is stable and ready to go.
$300 (plus $19 for USPS Priority Shipping)
