So, a couple weeks ago someone posted links to a Buyee seller selling a bunch of Vanson Cheyennes at a great price.
I decided to risk it and ordered two.

A brown Suede one:

https://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/r491607764

And a black leather one:

https://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/b541365515

I ended up winning the suede one for 26000JPY (235$) and the black one for 30800JPY (279$) shipping was 30$ a piece with Fedex, import taxes 70$ a piece.
So that's around 350$ a piece door to door, IMO a great price.

Soon after i won there was talk about them being fake, which was quite worrying, but another member @Schambach who had also bought one took it to Vanson and they confirmed it was real.
Weirdly, his jacket and mine have the same serial number stamped in the pocket, but Vanson said serial number mistakes aren't uncommon, especially on japanese market runs, so it could be that an entire batch was given the same serial.

All that to say if you are after a nice trucker at a good price, this might be your opportinity.

So, here are some pics:

The black one is the thinner one of the two, it weight just uner 2kg, the leather is very smooth and soft, very unlike Vanson, but it is still pretty nice.
It has a very strong sheen and a very very strong smell, to me it smells like a shoe store.
It was overwhelming when i got it out of the bag, but after hanging outside for a week it is less aggressive.
The lining is the traditional Vanson cotton.

The brown one is much thicker and heavier, it weighs just under 3kg.
I am not really a fan of suede, but i have to say this one is nice. It is heavy, dense, it feels like a wet blanket.
The contrast between the smooth suede and the really grainy collar is very nice, i like it a lot.
The lining is a thick smooth satin, not the traditionel Vanson lining.

If you are in the US and can buy one without paying import tax this deal is IMO a real no brainer, go for it before they are all gone.

Nice! I’ve got a line on the suede one but it’s a size 40”. What’s the p2p on the suede 42”? I’m wondering if I can get in a 40” with just a t-shirt, which is how I’d wear it anyway.

They are both sized exactly the same:

P2P: 24"
Hem: 20.5"
Shoulders: 19.5"
Back: 26.25"
Arms: 25.5" straight down.

You might be able to squeeze into a 40

Great looking jackets, congrats. Personally I'd prefer them a bit shorter, like your Lee. Did vanson make them longer because they're for the Japanese market?

Thanks, i agree with you, 1" less would have been perfect.
I couldn't tell you if they modified the patterns specifically for the japanese market or if these where just ordered longer by a shop...
Traditionally the Cheyenne is a much shorter jacket, i think @JMax 's size 42 is 24" in the back.
Unfortunately Vanson knew surprisingly little about these jackets, maybe @Schambach will be able to add more useful information...

@Carlos840 I will update this thread with the actual measurements once my Maverick is delivered with the rest of my household goods. If my recollection is accurate, it is shorter and the pit to pit about an inch smaller. Tagged 42.

These look really nice. Too bad Vanson doesn’t have a lot of info. Maybe ping Constantine?

I sent Constantine an email weeks ago but he didn't answer... Sad as he was always so helpful and knowledgeable about anything Vanson related...

I'm not used to seeing such tiny pics from you, Carlos. Feels so weird not having one hair follicle covering my entire screen when I click on the photo. . .

They fit great and they look great! Completely different from my Cheyenne but we've discussed this. I think yours are much closer to Vanson's original pattern as my jacket was really weird. They're super cool!

Last but not list, that denim jacket fits you 10 out of 10.

Thanks, i only noticed the tiny pics after uploading them, i am having to use a different program and i don't really know how to use it... I might re upload with better/larger pics later...

Interesting measurements for a 42. This would fit me well if the arms measured around the curve are say 26.5”.

These links go to what appear to be live or current auctions. Is the seller selling multiples of the exact same jacket?

The suede looks really nice, but the lighter black one would work better for our 20 minute jacket season here.

I think so, both jackets i recevied where new i assume he has multiple examples of each size.
The black one woudl be my choice in your weather, the suede one would get sweaty very fast.

Cool tip, thanks. What do the sleeves around the curve measure, all the other measurements are perfect for me!
