This was a great piece. RLK, I really enjoy all the historical articles you post. They are not only entertaining, but educational.
I find it curious that his photo shows him hatless and they don't bother to illustrate any of his stylistic innovations. Of course they were familiar to the intended readers of the article. But it would be very interesting to see the green hats and other oddities he brought into popularity.
