James Dean Straw Cowboy Hat

Hey guys. I always thought this hat James Dean wore on the set of Giant was kind of crazy and cool. Anyone have any clue what it is? Or a modern equivalent? I did a quick search on the Lounge but didn’t see anything. Apologies if it’s already been talked about. Thanks!

There are a few vintage ones on eBay depending on your size. One similar to the James Dean hat, but small.

I have a Saddle King from the above 1958 catalog.

With all the brim stitching it could be palm leaf. Besides Bailey check out Atwood Hat Co. You might have to roll the fenders higher on the sides but look for Atwood Hats in places like farm stores & Tractor Supply.
