Is this suit any good...at all?

I really love this suit. I'm considering buying it, once finance permits.

I'm kind of concerned, though - $139 seems like an awfully good price; and on a website I had never heard of until a month ago.

What do you blokes think?

If you ask the more discerning crowd, they will respond with a resounding NO. However, on the quality scale I'd hazard a guess that it's about the same or a little bit better quality to suits found at Macy's/Dillard's/Foley's... As far as the cut, I love it.

Hello, I hope you don't mind my butting my nose in but with all these NEW online stores opening up, I think we really need to be careful. *I took special notice of your "and on a website I had never heard of until a month ago". Soooo I did a little sleuthing for you and here's what I found:

They have TWO Ebay links on their website.

The first one I saw was on the page for Suit Separates>Pants, with this link:
http://www.mensusa.com/ebay.htm
The link goes to a graphic of an Ebay account 'mensusa (4512)' so I went to Ebay directly and looked that seller up. What I found was that 'mensusa' has a feedback of 6, not 4512 as shown on their website graphic; I then double checked by looking up the buyer listed as giving the first feedback on that graphic -Guess what? When I looked at the feedback he left for others, there was NOTHING for 'mensusa' or anything close to that and his first feedback was left on Apr-27-05, so it does go back a bit!!! It seems that their little graphic of Ebay feedback is made up -at least that is my opinion!

It gets worse! On the homepage of the website you listed, there is a link at the bottom of the page for http://www.mensusa.com/feed_back/index.htm
This time the 'Ebay feedback' page says they are named 'MensUsaInc (6856)'
so again, I looked up that seller's name on Ebay and I got this message:
'The user ID you entered was not found. Please check the User ID and try again.' I then looked up the member listed as giving the first feedback on their supposed Ebay page again. His feedback showed nothing for a MensUsaInc company BUT by cross referencing the item number, I DID find the feedback but it was for a company called 'style-wizard(9317)'
What concerns me greatly about this specific 'Ebay' page is that if you click on any of the tabbed links -From Buyers, From Sellers, Left For Others- it brings you back to your original Mensusa.com website, which a real Ebay page would NEVER do!!!!!!!

Finally, I checked out Ebay's member 'style-wizard(9317)' and found that to be a legit seller but when I clicked on the link for style-wizard's store, I got this: http://stores.ebay.com/The-Wizard-of-Aahs.

So my question is this... WHY all the name changes? AND Ebay does not allow you to bring your feedback with you {I'm an Ebay geek}, so generally people do not switch names without a good reason.

On Ebay, style-wizard has this contact information:

The information about the two companies is not even the same!!! Something is fishy there.....

Here's my suggestion; if you like the suit, buy it through Ebay and use Paypal. That way, you have some type of guarantee if something is wrong. I think though that the ebay store 'The-Wizard-of-Aahs' is legit and evidently doing a booming business, so you're probably safe buying through there.
My last thoughts are thes... Ebay does not allow you to sell outside of Ebay, so it could be that the stores have been kept distinctly separate for good reason. That, however, does not explain the phoney names on the supposed Ebay feedback pages that Mensusa is showing on their website.

Indeed, it does seem fishy. By all means the picture on the page I linked is probably not even one of their suits.

Nice job on the research. I will go a step further and tell you that I bought two suits from this company. It was one of the worst buying experiences I've had. First of all, the suits that they show on the website, may or may not be the ones they send you. Two completely different suits showed up that didn't look anything like the ones I ordered. When I called the gentleman to get it fixed, he actually asked me "Why are you doing this to me?" :eusa_doh: I told him if he'd sent me the correct suits in the first place I wouldn't have to waste his, and infinitely more important, my time in calling to get it fixed. He gave me such a hard time that I demanded a full refund.

I think many of these new esuit companies are ones that buy bulk from Italian designers etc... I think they post a picture of "a" suit, and then if you order that they give you one that fits that general description. It may be the exact one, but chances are it won't be.

Anyway, I hope you can benefit from my bad experience! lol

I bought a charcoal DB from these people. One hundred dollars. To tell you the truth, I rather like it. It fits perfectly. The weight is very light which is not what everyone likes but it's fine for hot weather. I have only worn it twice, however; who knows how it'll hold up. As I didn't have a charcoal DB it was certainly worth the hundred bucks.

Yes, exactly. But, to be utterly honest, I am not as much of a suit connoisseur as some people are. It is possible that some tiny details were different. The small, poor photographs on the site do not encourage (or allow) close scrutiny.
However, for one hundred dollars, I was pretty pleased!
