I kind of doubt it. All the 3rd Pursuit Squadron Hell's Angels patches and painted on insignia's I have seen, the angel has white wings and a halo above her head! Still, an interesting patch, would love to know the history!

That one is WW2 "CACW" and for the 4th Bombardment Squadron

It's my understanding that the Chinese-American Composite Wing was a joint effort spinoff of Gen Chennault's 14th AF. that was activated after America officially entered the war. So we're not that far off.

The 14th was never part of the AVG, nor the 23 Fighter Group. All were under the command of Chennault, and the 23rd did have former AVG pilots in it, as did the Chinese transport squadron.
