Beautiful jacket! I am not sure if those photos provide enough information to say whether or not that is an M422A or an early G-1. I know that my LW Foster G-1, which is a Mil-J-7823(AER) from the mid 50s, has the single ply rib-rack knits and a blackened Conmar zipper pull like the one in the photo.
The zipper on my jacket had aluminum teeth though and the one you posted appears to be brass. I would love to see more photos if possible.
I agree that it is probably not an M-422a, but most probably an early 55j14 G-1. I had a Foster 55j14 with blackened brass Conmar zipper and pocket shapes.
I just spotted another detail that points to G-1. There is no exposed stitching above the pen sleeve on the left side patch pocket. The M422A jackets that I have seen in photos had that visible stitch line to separate the pen sleeve from the main pocket.
