Interesting vintage finds this weekend ...

[Mustang Mike's Hats]

Had a free Saturday so my wife and I made a trip up to L.A. We visited Baron's Hats in Burbank (poorly taken photos attached) and then California Millinery in downtown. It was great to get a chance to see some famous hats like the one's below. I'd never been there after living in So Cal for over 35 years, so I was probably due, right? The hats were all behind glass and the sun coming in from the front window was a factor as well, but, I tried.

In our further travels we came across a small quantity of an early 40's grosgrain ribbon at California Millinery. I plan to use it on a yet undetermined future project. We loved the pattern!

Overall, not a bad day!!

i had to cancel a trip to california this year but am probably going next summer, must put it on the itinery.
