I never wear jeans...

This story isn't so much about the clothing as it is about my awful little dog.

I own one pair of Levi's, mainly for working in the yard on cold days. I have had this pair for probably 10 years, had the pair before that for at least that long.

Anyway, I had a "date" with several of my kids to see a movie yesterday, and the theatre is as cold as a meat locker, so I wore jeans. Saw "Blind Side", excellent movie.

Went home, threw the jeans on the floor of my bedroom, left the wallet and keys in the pockets, belt on the pants, and went to bed. I woke up this morning, went to grab my wallet and whatnot, discovered that the pants are cold and wet...my little Boston Terrorist apparently doesn't like blue jeans either. He snuck out of bed in the middle of the night and urinated all over them. I could have killed the little bugger, then he came running, tail wagging, tongue sticking out, (which makes him look mentally-challenged), and I forgave him...this time.

Oh-oh! Being single, I do something like that too. Put the days clothes in a pile and my little dogs sleep there at night. Don't place your dirty button down work shirts there. Some buttons are made of bone and one night my little corgi mix took it upon himself to remove and eat half of the buttons of a nice shirt I had.

I started doing that when my dogs were pups. They'd whine and cry until they found their way to my daily pile of clothes and slept quietly all night long. they're big now but old habits die hard.

Meh, I've worked hard my whole life so I'll probably wear jeans and boots until my last day. But I have them dry cleaned and pressed so they always look nice.

See, this is yet another reason why cats are superior: my girls have never eaten or wee'd on any of my clothes. That said, they are a nightmare with hairs... A cat doesn't like to sleep or even sit directly on the floor - for the most part, even if it's a sheet of paper, they'd rather sit on something. I went away for a few days some months ago, and returned home to find a 50s blazer of mine liberally coated in Greta's tabby hairs. Naturally, said feline turns on the big eye treatment with a "but I misseded you and it smelled like you" expression. (Her sister, Marlene, merely rolled her expressive green eyes and said "You is home. Nao feed meh.") lol

Yeah, you said it. We have two cats. Wondering if I should just give up on owning black hats. Always sure to use the brush/fabric roller thingie before I head out. New strategy: Only buy hats (and everything else) that match the color of the cats.

About the dog using the jeans as a restroom...let's hope it's not his comment on your fashion sense. I suppose it's better for denim to be peed on than vintage gabardine!

Cheers,
GC

So, a Boston Terrier left you a "note" not to leave your jeans on the floor. I can't imagine a Boston doing that...........

lol My girls seem to be most attracted to lying on anything with which their own fur contrasts most.... Greta being a tawny tabby and Marlene black, that gives them a lot of scope between them. Times I think I might just get an industrial strength version of one of those rollers and brush the cat directly - cut out the middleman!

Well, everyone needs a good pair of jeans for working hard. Jeans wear exceptionally well, they are perfect for working hard and doing a good days labor; however, the idea that they are more comfortable is completely lost on me.

Even the most worn of jeans are thicker and less flexible than the stiffest of slacks. Slacks are so stylish, yet not much thicker than a pair of P. J. bottoms. Granted slacks do not last nearly so well, over the course of years, causing one to replace them more often; though, as often as styles of jeans alter, you'd be replacing your jeans nearly as often.

I think it all harkens back to our youth, when we were told consistently to "put on our play clothes but once one learns to wear a suit and not let it wear him, I think he will fell more comfortable than his denim clad cohorts.

Put me in a suit any day of the week! So, if something must be soiled, be glad it was the denim.

I have never been a fan of jeans...they never seem to fit me right, when I was younger I was always overheated when I wore them. I wear a suit 6 or 7 days a week now, so even cotton khakis feel funny to me...I bought a half dozen pairs of odd wool trousers to wear when I'm not in a suit...feels much better, and they hold up better than cotton pants. I wouldn't throw nice pants on the floor, so perhaps Dozer was just waiting patiently for his chance. This is the same dog who poops in the 15 year old son's shoes...nobody else's. The dog simply dislikes the kid.

This is the worst dog I've ever had, from a behavioral standpoint, but he's just beautiful.

I never have a dog sleeping in my laundry! Never! Isn't the done thing at all!

Mocha sleeps in people's beds. :)

Its the cats who get their hair on everything. Especially the black-and-white cat, who has 50% clash with everything. The beige cat's hair is so neutral and so thin (my cat is almost bald, its unsightly) his hair doesn't marr anything, and the grey tabby is just well-behaved.

My mama is getting a boxer puppy at some point - I plan to not be around for that, boxers are hilarious but their droooooooool.

Less to do with jeans, more to do with wee.
I wear jeans almost daily due to the field I work in, well denim overalls. They have never been the target for urine, my bed on the other hand. Oh Nelly! If I'm gone for more than about 3 hours and forget to shut my bedroom door, my sly little "pit-wahwah" shimmies under the covers, does his business and shimmies out. I don't have a clue until I turndown for the night. Sneaky sneaky small dogs. I figure it's my fault for forgetting to shut the door.

Make no mistake, this is a behavior on his part...he's almost 4 years old and knows better. He knows how to tell me it's potty time, he just chose not to in this particular instance. He is my baby though, I like him better than any of my kids, all 7 of them.

If you were sleeping how was he supposed to tell you? Further, this may be a example of "spiteful peeing" or just an accident. The correlation between jeans and the behavior escapes me. Perhaps your pooch was marking his territory. Who know what you sat on in that dark theater on those seats. *yucky* Maybe that is reason alone to give your dog a treat....:D :D :D

Were those jeans fresh from the laundry? It is never a good idea to leave your clothes on the floor and expect others to behave in a more becoming way.

I had a chihuahua once; she was my guardian angel. If I wanted to date someone they would have to meet with my dog's approval. My little Cosette was very protective of me and would sit on their lap. If she did not pee on the prospective date's lap then I would take them to a show. My little Cosette soiled her share of pants in her time.....Man I loved that dog...lol

...and that is why both animal shelters and pet rescue sites are filled to capacity. It is the owner's responsibility to train and commit to the pet rather than take the easy way out...:eusa_doh:

lol I wouldn't have a dog in the house - grown up around enough of them, and just don't like them. It's an absurd prejudice on my part, no doubt, but I just can't view a dog as a clean animal or one I have any patience with. I think it's the neediness I can't abide; I'm the same with humans. [huh]

Cats, now.... our first cat was a big black and white bruiser, and during the almost thirteen years of his life I came to the very firm conclusion that it was not a case of 50% of shed hairs contrasting with the clothing on which they happened to fall, but rather a mystical ability on the part of the cat to shed only hairs of the colour which would contrast most strongly with the paticular garment in question.

For wee, my girls have only ever had two accidents: once, when they were very tiny, Marlene weed a tiny bit in front of the tray as her sister was blocking the door and she couldn't get in and couldn't wait any longer, bless. Greta last Christmas didn't settle too quickly with the friends they stayed with for a day or two, and rather than leave the bedroom in which she had taken refuge to go to the tray, she weed on the bed. Or, more specifically, on a very expensive silk duvet cover. Bless her, though, she obviously thought she was doing the right thing not going on the floor. she once got closed into my bedroom while I was at work - I discovered this when I arrived home and found Marlene and her meowing at each other through the door. Soon as I opened the door she fled straight to the litter tray: she'd hung on all day rather than wee where she shouldn't.

For what it may be worth, I didn't have to train them at all; their mother was a housecat and she trained them from birth to use a tray.
