I recently watched an entertaining movie starring Lucille Ball and Franchot Tone called HER HUSBAND'S AFFAIRS. Ball plays a well-intentioned, somewhat ditzy wife who often comes to the rescue of her husband (Tone) -- decidedly against his wishes, I might add -- when he's gotten himself into a jam.
He's in advertising, and the movie eventually concerns a secret formula his friend has concocted that seems to dissolve hair (making shaving unnecessary), but actually, after dissolving the hair, makes it grow back tenfold.
But in the early scenes of the movie, Tone's trying to come up with an ad campaign for a line of straw hats -- boaters, specifically -- and I thought my fellow denizens of the lounge would enjoy seeing these scenes. For hat buffs, they're very entertaining.
It's about 18 minutes of footage, divided into two roughly equal parts. (WARNING: You will witness the destruction of a couple of perfectly good straw boaters -- those with weak constitutions may not choose to watch.)
