1950s. Brown hats are more sought after and generally cost more than black hats. Brown homburgs are much less common than black on the vintage market

As you well know, because you have asked about several of your hats, the best source for dating a Dobbs hat is The Hatted Professor's site. As you also know from your previous requests, no appreciable dating on a hat can be achieved without seeing the reorder tags and possibly a union label.

I would suggest you look behind the sweatband and compare it with the dating guides on the Professor's site.
