New York's World of Tomorrow featured many unusualities. One was an early example of what the Internet decades later knows as Kitlers - cats that looked vaguely like Adolf Hitler.
Kitler being held by a lady who looks like she didn't do this kind of thing as a rule.
That being the era of daffy photo-syndicate publicity, Kitler was even entered into a jitterbugging contest with an alligator named Sam (cats and alligators being two contemporary terms for swing enthusiasts). Ben Bernie's orchestra provided the music, and of course, who better to wrangle the critters than two Seminole Indians from the Fair's own gator wrestling attraction.
Kitler regarding Sam balefully as The Ol' Maestro crouches to protect his vitals. August 22, 1939.
