High Waisted Pants & Jeans!

I just received my size 26 overalls/dungarees. I have a 26-27" waist depending on the day, and I decided to step down to a 26 to insure the waist would be snug. Just as Fleur said, the waist is great but the hips are almost too tight... It was a bit of a struggle for me to get the waist up and over my hips! My hubz laughed at my grunts as I struggled... lol. BUT - they look fabulous on.

Inspiration + eye candy

I like to be reminded of what pants/ capris/ jeans looked like back in the day: the fit (tight or loose), the cut (length and waist), the cloth/ pattern, how they looked depending on the girl's body type who wore them, and the top and shoes she chose to wear with them.

Perhaps someone would like to add to my collection?

Speaking of Freddies, how do they fit? I have a pair of Viviens that are a touch snug (thanks to holiday goodies) in size 36. Do the Freddies fit the same in the waist? Freddies only go to 38 in the overalls, so I'd be out of luck if I have to go up a size.

The Freddies are higher in the waist than the Viviens and tighter throughout the hip and thigh area. The Viviens are more like trousers and the Freddies more like dungarees.

I saw that seller and contacted her about that cute top to see if she made it in longer sleeves. I plan to order some capris from her before summer (and for my blog reviews). I'll let you know about them - they are cute!

I have the Freddies Classics 28 waist and relaxed 38 hip (I wanted a more trouser 40's look). I measure my waist at 27" and hip at 38" and these are actually a touch too large in both the waist and thigh. They still look super cute though! They are VERY high waisted; I am very long waisted in the torso, and I even feel they are high; they come up past the bottom of my ribcage. I LOVE the real dungaree fabric of them too.

I read somewhere the Vivian's are stretch fabric? I would try them except I don't want stretch.

A lot of jeanswear companies seem to put out so-called high-waisted jeans because they want to jump the bandwagon or whatever ...
I've tried on several pairs of jeans that are labelled HIGH WAIST or SCARLETT STYLE or something, and then they're only marginally higher waisted than the ones from last season, they just seem to be cut like jeans were before the low-waist hipster craze came along.
It's strange.. it just makes me go 'you call that a high waist??' [huh]

I'll probably get a pair of these instead:

Woot! A pair of the classic black is on their way to me. Here's hoping my hard to fit waist to hip ratio won't be a problem. Based on their fit and measurement instructions, I think I should be good. Waists are always too big (sloppily so) when the hips fit right. Based on where the waist on these sit, I think it will work. Now for the extra 5" in length...

it's a good thing we all don't live in the same town or people would think there was some kind of vintage cult....

Here are my Freddie's Jeans, I like them but ............ the waist to hip ratio is a problem, I have a 4 inch gap in the waist so in my case they do nothing for my figure. I do put a belt on them when wearing something tucked in.
