Henschel Hat Company

Hey all! Have a question for ya. Although this may come across as a bit kooky, I have to ask. When I was in Disney this past year with a friend I came across a hat made by the Henschel Hat company that I absolutely fell in love with. It was being sold within the park at quite a few different locations. Upon calling Henschel to inquire about it I was told that they could not disclose any information about a customer or their stock. I'm really looking at getting such a hat because it was one of the very few that looked really good on me. Sadly much better than two of the fedoras I have! I'm pretty sure that hat model number 5336-95 at henschelhats.com is the right model. I don't suppose that any of you have would have a clue as to which one I'm talking about... Model 5329-95 appears to be the same, just without the satin liner. Both are listed under the "every day/outdoor" menu on the left at the home page.

The hat I tried on fit like a glove and it was nice because it had a bit of weight to it. I'm a photographer and it's nice to have a hat with a wider brim while I'm out and about in the sun and rain. Like I said, it's kinda a goofy question, but if anyone could come to my rescue I'd greatly appreciate it! Thanks guys!

I'm not exactly sure what your question is, but from looking at the Henschel website, the hat appears to be pretty much a standard-issue Disney World hat. I bought a similar one when I was there a few years ago. It's a good hat to abuse, I wear it on my boat since I don't care if it gets blown off and falls in the Hudson River. I have submerged the hat several times and it has been crushed and crumpled quite a bit. It doesn't look great now, but it does keep the sun off my head. If you want a hat to look good for a long time, though, I don't think these types of canvas hats can stand up to even normal wear and tear and still look crisp like a felt or a Montecristi can.

You also stated that this hat looks better on you than your fedoras. Could it be because the brim on this one is wider? It's amazing how much difference even 1/4" in the width of the brim can make.

Does it matter?
Henschel has long been known for their quality leather hats. In recent years they've branched into other materials. They usually require us to buy six of a style but I can probably get you one if you want. Just let me know.

Sorry about that! I guess I wasn't too clear. I was a bit excited at the fact that I'd been looking for about a year for an answer to whether or not that was the model that was sold there and I had never once thought about posting the question here! It was staring me in the face the whole time! lol Yeah, I was looking more for a durable hat that could be used and abused while out photographing.

Quite possibly that is why I liked the look of it. I have somewhat of a longer, more narrow face. Out of the several vintage fedoras I have tried on, all of which were of correct size but of different brands, never looked quite right. But thinking back on it, I don't think they had quite as wide of a brim. Down the road I might be looking into a good dress hat and knowing now that brim size can matter to a degree, I may look around again! Thanks guys!

Aaron, I'll keep ya posted. I'll probably be considering this within a week or two, depending on my available funds! lol I really appreciate it!

Thanks again!
