I'm about to write a screenplay, and one of the main characters is a vintage suit. I won't give away the story, but in short terms, the suit is ordinary yet out of the ordinary.
What I'd like you to do is help me decide what the suit looks like and what kind of person may have been it's owner.
A few key notes about the owner:
1. For occupation, keep in mind that as a film maker, I try to save as much money as possible. The owner cannot have a complicated one. Keep it simple. He is an ordinary man but is highly interesting to observe. For example, a newspaper reporter.
2. He must be in his 20s or early 30s, but if you like, he can be in high school.
3. He has to be thin and fit.
4. He has to be Caucasian.
A few key notes about the suit:
1. The suit cannot be doubled breasted.
2. It can have notch or peak lapels
3. If it has peak lapels, the suit has to be from the 30's or early 40's. From what I have seen, lapels became larger in the late 40's, and from my understanding, suits in the 1920s were shorter, and it cannot be shorter.
4. It can have some details, but cannot be full of details like ticket pockets or a certain type of button stance, etc.
5. The material can be unique as in windowpane or worsted wool, or it can be plain or pinstriped, but color is more important.
6. The color can be unique, but I'd like to have as basic a color as possible.
For right now the suit's appearance is only temporary. If eventually I or someone else actually makes the film, I'd like to come as close to what has been chosen as I can.
So please help me choose a unique owner and unique looking suit that would not seem out of place today, yet there is something about them that isn't today.
