I attended a press screening this evening.

The movie is ok. Ron Perlman is very good. John is interesting as always. Though it borrows plot points from MIB and X-men it lacks the compelling quality that it's donors have.

It does have a golden era scene set in 1944 (ala X-Men).

It is a decent popcorn film.

A side note.....there was a guy in my row wearing a Wested lamb. Indy fans are everywhere.

So MK, was this Wested owner someone from here or COW? It must be fun running into strangers wearing Westeds.

I don't think so. He was in a conversation with several other guys. After confirming his jacket was a Wested, he didn't really pursue the subject.....even though I was wearing my FS. I let it go.

It wasn't the greatest movie of its type I've ever seen but, for what it was, it had a lot of heart and some nice comedic elements.

Director Guillermo del Toro ('Blade II'). An acknowledged comic buff, enthusiastically described his pic as "made by geeks for geeks."

I like the premiss of this movie... a child of demons choosing the right side and fighting evil.

Was that heavy handed?

I?Ǭ¥ve seen about 30 minutes of it so far...drat pirate DVD cut off, gotta splurge another $1.00 on another one.

I think it is okay so far...I can?Ǭ¥t get over the C3P0/Niles Craine Fishman.

not to be a jerk, especially as i like you and am very pleased to own one of your hats, but supporting those that pirate dvds is a really questionable thing to do. i understand why people do it, but it really can and does affect hardworking people in the business -- not simply the large corporations that run it. i know this is a subject that's close to your heart, and admire the way you sell your hats at reasonable prices in order to keep your weavers working. what i'm saying is that when you buy a pirated dvd of a film, you're effectively undercutting that same belief. the economics are different, and certainly nowhere near as severe as the conundrum you circumvent so well -- i'm just pointing out that it's more or less the same exact principle/issue, and hope that your knowing this from someone who it affects makes you question whether or not to give your business to those that illegally record films for a quick buck.
