I always find it interesting when members here say that they find FQHH cumbersome, restrictive, or too heavy. I wore my long halfbelt pretty consistently on a recent trip up north and I never noticed any of that. I'm coming to the conclusion that some batches of HH must really vary from others.

That’s probably me, Arrandale. I ordered Johnson Leather a jacket made of 7.3 ounce bullhide with detachable 1 inch mouton shearling lining. Besides the mouton lining, the jacket is equipped with thinsulate under the heavy nylon lining in the body and the sleeves.I wonder who has the heaveist jacket on the site...
Aero Highwayman is very well known in Japan. Takuya Kimura, a very popular Japanese actor wore this jacket in a TV drama in 1994. By the end of the week the jacket was gone from all the stores in Tokyo.Okay, I have yet to receive it, but my incoming Aero Highwayman in brown Heavy Steer lined with heavy Strome weight tartan weighs 4.5kg (9.9lbs) according to my shipment invoice; thus outweighing my Langlitz as I had hoped! Will put up a thread as soon as I receive the jacket
Thedi Jackets aren’t well known in Japan, as a matter of fact I didn’t know them until my friend, a Danish Englishman told me about it. They seem to make very sturdy and cautiously sewn excellent products. My thedi civil B3 XXL WEIGHS AROUND 8lbs
Yes, I did. Mr. Alan Zaffrin, the superb craftsman in San Francisco, the owner of Johnson Leather named the jacket@Arrandale Have you receive the jacket in Japan yet?!
What’s the difference? As has been mentioned already, its definitely stiffness and not weight that (at least for me) determines appropriate situations for a jacket wear. 5oz bison and 5oz steer are different animals entirely (pun totally intended)
