If you are interested in getting acquainted with the headgear industry, here is a link to Hat Life the newsletter of the Headwear Association. The Headwear Association was founded in 1908, so it was there throughout the Golden Age of hats.
I believe their upcoming 99th Annual dinner is open to anyone who is interested in hats and the headwear industry and wants to become a member the Association. Membership is only $25, but the dinner is pricey at $150.
The Headwear Association's dinner is at Tavern on the Green in NYC on March 15th (that is this coming Thursday). Meeting is at 4:30 and dinner is at 6:00. The meeting before the dinner is to "discuss what’s happening with the Headwear Association and their new PR effort." For information contact Kathy at kathym@dorfman-pacific.com. MK has said (in another thread) that he is going. Perhaps he will give us a report.
