I have a very strong thinking, this is the guy I trained early this year , he name is Mark Havens, he is just starting to make a few hats and is selling them as he turns a few out,

Major Moore

Confirmed. Website is up and coming at http://www.hbhats.com/. Sounds like he wants to join the fun, and it'll be interesting to see what he adds to the business.

seem Nothing like the Major's, no bound brims, fancy ribbons , but a great start

Yeah, especially for a person as un-tech savvy as myself, updating the website takes a backseat to the endless other things involved in moving (twice) and everything else I've been dealing with over the past year or so. But it's settling down now. I hope.

Not yet...

And you're an Albertan, Blaine?

I was born in Iowa but, I will, with God as my witness, die in Alberta! :canada: My wife is a born & bred Calgarian (Why she went and married a hillbilly I'll never know.) and I think it is one of the nicest places I have ever spent time. Even at minus 40.

Currently we are in Knoxvegas Tennessee (Thank ya', uh, thankya'vera'much.), moved up from Ja'jaw some years ago.
She just became a US citizen :usa2: so we are here for the foreseeable future.
But the idea of .65-.70 Dollars, in retirement in the Canadian Rockies, IS attractive as well...eh? [huh]

I'm something of a canuckophile myself. The missus and I frequently fall asleep to the As It Happens podcast. In the Seattle area, Canadian channels are often included in basic cable and satellite TV packages, so we often watched The National and other CBC news.

:eek:fftopic:

I dunno exactly WHAT wee me thought the far-off future of 2001 would be like, when I was in my dotage, at age 40, but whatever it is I felt the future was going to be, what it should be, I see fulfilled more above the 48th parallel far more than in my own country. And that is saddening, disappointing. But a lovelier Country and People you will never meet.

I'll admit to being something of a greener-grass thinker, at least sometimes, anyway.

I'm about as American as Americans get. I've been told that I stand out like an American, and on my rare visits to other lands I clearly sense that I do.

The country on Earth most like America (other than America) is Canada, arguably. But I'm here to tell you that an international border makes a real cultural difference. I lived in Seattle for 40-some years and had several occasions to take the short hop north to greater Vancouver (and Victoria, and ... ). I sensed my "otherness" there much more than I did in, say, Boston, which is one helluva long ways away.

We're lucky, all of us born in the U.S. or Canada. It really says something that among the things afflicting our lower-income countrymen is OBESITY. Imagine that. The lower your income in this land of ours, the likelier you are to be overweight.

I've been corresponding with him via an Ebay puchase of one of his 100% Beaver hats. He is a member here; MBH. He writes that he can sign in and read the forums but not reply. He thinks he might have missed a confirmation e-mail at some point.

I offered to reach out to the forum. Can anyone help with rectifying the situation?

Thanks,
Roger

I asked Mr. Mark to trim back the brim to 3" or under- this being the result;

And the B4-

He himself agreed that the proportions looked better with the slightly narrower brim.
I'll get it Friday. I am chuffed.

These guys were as nice and kind and just as accommodating imaginable. Very personable, white-glove customer service, GR8 communication. I am very impressed.
Their (wider) ribbon work is subtle and quite distinctive. I'll have more to say after my actual receipt of the hat.

At the bottom of the page is a "contact us" link the Bartenders should be able to straighten out the problem.
They always do a great job
Rick thanks for the update. if the Major likes him he has got to be good, as evidenced in the alteration.
Here is another mystery hatter that has come from the blue:
https://www.etsy.com/listing/247057267/buckaroo-cowboy-hat?ref=related-2
Strange sweat bands, as if just starting out and self taught, one pic shows a bunch of old blocks, no ribbons, looks like no pouncing
