I was recently in the Fort Worth (Texas) Civic Center. Right there, in the middle of the concourse is a huge "Star of Texas" covered with hundreds of hats. As you might guess, they are virtually all cowboy hats. I was intrigued by some of the unique bashes. Here are some pics.

I think the Cowboy Hat Book calls that one a horseshoe shape, for obvious reasons. Popular enough to put it into a shaping diagram for the customer to pick from as well.

I saw it on a fedora somewhere, too. I've only ever seen the shape from above, but I can't really imagine how it looks from the front or back. In fact, which IS the front and back?? lol
