Hey guys,
I've had my Stetson Leghorn hat for a little while now, and I love it, but it has this hole in the crown were the previous owner has handled it by the pinch too much:
I'm terrified that the hole is going to get worse if I keep wearing the hat, which I love to do Just looking at the hat now and comparing it to that picture, I can already tell that the hole is bigger.
I've been thinking about repairing/patching up the hole in order to prevent it from spreading and getting worse. I've been thinking that I can glue in some sort of cloth to the underside of the hole area.
The thing is, I don't know what kind of cloth/material would work best or what kind of glue to use.
I was thinking that a brown cotton cloth and some elmers might work, but I don't think elmers is very flexible and it might show. Although the plus of elmers is that it's not too hard to remove (though I don't know how well it would come out of straw if it didn't work).
For any of you crafty folk out there, I would appreciate some adhesive and cloth recommendations. Thanks!!
Jimmy
