I just want pics of hats from movies... and shots of their liners. Just so we have an odd reference of something else obscure on this board.

Biltmore Rosellini in The Untouchables.

Humphrey Bogart in "The Big Sleep"has a scene where he is beaten up in an ally. As Bogart drops to his knees his hat falls off and the liner of his hat can clearly be seen as a Stetson and it is this type of logo. I would venture to say that it is a Zephyr weight because the hat appears to be quite soft and has a Mode Edge as well

lol lol lol

Well...that gave me a good laugh... :D

Just a few minutes before I posted the photo I was talking to a friend about a video from Frankie Goes To Hollywood (Welcome To The Pleasuredome). I guess that's how Hollywood found it's way to Mr. Smith...

Ok. So be it: Mr. Smith Goes To Washington...

I'm still laughing.

One thing that is connected with this is "Product Placement" in film. I don't know the rules but in early films you really did not see much as to company names or specific product names come up since it seemed like the maker would sue if they did not give permission first. In the last 20 years product placement is used to offset the cost of the project like inserted advertising.

So it seems to me that in many films they'd be leary of showing a branded item clearly on screen adding to the difficulty of the ID of liners.
