Hat in the swimming pool

I was cleaning out the pool on Saturday. Light breeze blowing...off goes the straw hat. Grabbed the net and retreived it. A Montecristi beach hat from PB.
I am pretty new to hats, so this gave me the opportunity to reshape the hat as I saw fit. I added a sharper pinch to the front and tried to retain the shape in the top of the crown. The hat was also just a little large, the water seemed to shrink it just enough so that I could remove the felt that I had put in the sweat band.
I am sure it will see water again in the future!

Good thing it worked out! That there is a dandy of a brim! I dig on it.

Brim is at least 3". Bought it to wear for yard work, pool cleaning, outdoor cooking and for the beach. Now if I can manage to be off work when the sun is out, I could actually have an opportunity to wear it.

On another note; the band didn't like the water much. I am going to have to remove and tighten it up a bit.

It's amazing what you can do with a little water. One acquaintance remarked that I "baptize" all my hats. Yours looks great!
