You're not clowning around with me, are you? On my profile page I only see one PM, although I know that my box used to be full back when I was active here. Maybe there's a glitch in the matrix.

Anyhoo.. potential questions answered:

The mask was foam latex, very lightweight and allowed a great deal of facial expression. It was purchased online from a shop that sells Hallowe’en masks, and they had it advertised more as a Spooky Mad Scientist, with blood and lab coat and what have you. Because foam latex absorbs liquids, grease makeup must be used. I used a flesh color wheel and blended light, medium, red, and dark brown tones using makeup sponges and q-tips, followed by color-neutral powder to soften the sheen. I also rimmed my lower eye lids blood red, which is not easy to see in the photos. I used the same makeup on my pate and neck, but unfortunately time restraints kept me from doing anything with my hands or legs.

Latex prosthetics can be held in place with spirit gum, but I opted for Pro Adhesive, a medical grade product. It does not harden or crystalize like spirit gum can, and it holds better and for a longer time. It does require a special solvent, however. The fake hair was very cheap from a local Hallowee'en store and it did not look as well as I had hoped it would, but the bad comb-over effect was still comical. It was also glued in place with Pro Adhesive, which dries clear if not applied too thickly. The hair was sprayed in place with standard hairspray and then sprayed again with water soluble grey tint.

The false upper teeth are Dr. Bailey's brand and readily available online for about $15, and they're actually comfortable to wear all day although my speech would have been impeeded somewhat had I been attempting to use my normal speaking voice. The clothes were all from thrift stores save the sock garters, and the total for shirt, shorts, sandals, belt, and clip-on suspenders was less than $15. The glasses are actual prescription glasses that were donated to the Lions Club, and they will find their way back now that I am finished with them. The walker was borrowed from a friend.

I shaved face and head the day before so that my skin would not be sensitive to the adhesive or makeup. In the morning, application time was about 90 minutes start to finish. I drove nine miles to work (without the glasses), and I worked a ten-hour shift. I had all of my co-workers fooled except for the security guard. He said that he knew it was me as soon as he spotted the sock garters. I work in a government office that deals with the public and has a very large lobby, and I spent the day walking throughout the lobby and interacting with the people. I had them laughing all day long. My persona was one part my grandfather and one part every old character that Dana Carvey has ever done.

Indeed. Luckily they are nice and skinny, though. I had a slight miscommunication with my (then) housemate regarding how much time I would need in the morning to get ready, and therefore I had to skip the hands and legs. The neck-up makeup could have been better as well, but I am no professional and I do everything myself every Hallowe'en. I learn from my mistakes, but seeing as I've never done the same thing twice it's iffy as to whether or not the lessons can be applied.

You are right, it does have that Dyson look to it. Mighty impressive all the same. Whilst my wife goes over the top with various witchy outfits, I just put this shirt on and it gets so many compliments, and requests, 'can she make me one?' All I did was to wear it, my wife did all the hard work:

Lily's favorite holiday is Halloween. We decorated her bedroom windows with Dia de los Muertos sugar skulls a couple weeks ago, and she has a glow-in-the-dark spider on a black sparkly web hanging on her door. She loves Halloween more than Christmas! She was giddy when I found a costume that she can wear to school for their Halloween parade/party.

She does, too. It's on a headband so it'll stay on her head. And the hat is stuffed with cotton so it'll stand up.

I make a hard cover book for her birthday each year with photos from the past year - sweet memories. She has five of the books so far, so this will go into her sixth birthday book. The book is her only present on her birthday (February 13th), with the rest of her presents being given at her party.

(We also eat birthday cake for breakfast, 'cause I'm that kind of mom! )
