Golden Era spirits/liqueurs

Good evening,
I'm new around here, only been watching this forum for some weeks, but finally it's time for my first thread
I'm wondering what the typical spirits (Cognac, Whisky?) and liqueurs (Grand Marnier?) of our beloved Golden Era are? I'm planning some new aquirations for my house bar and just wanted to make sure they'll be period-correct

A little bit of Laphroaig always helps to create new and interesting words, didn't you know? Let's just say I want to buy some new bottles... :cheers1:

I would be especially interested in what people did drink from the beginning of the century to the 40s.

I still wonder what the typical gentleman had at hand to offer his guests? Shisky? Cognac? Gin? Any "must have" liqueurs?
