This is a RARE jacket made for a musical artist who performed at the 1993 Clinton/Gore Presidential Inauguration. Among the performers were Michael Jackson, Linda Ronstadt, Barbara Streisand, Fleetwood Mac and others. There is no personalized tag or other indication of who wore the jacket.
Golden Bear made about 200 of these jackets as replicas of the one they gave to President Clinton. Hillary and Chelsea Clinton and Al Gore also received the same model jacket.
I obtained the following information about this jacket directly from Golden Bear: The jacket is a dark brown naked cowhide. They were not available for retail purchase at that time. Production was limited to the 200-some jackets made specifically for the Inauguration. Made in San Francisco.
The jacket itself is in excellent condition with soft and very supple leather. No scuffs, holes, flaking, lining tears, stains, etc. The wool knits are in excellent condition. Collar and pocket snaps work. The zip works fine, just be sure that insertion pin is inserted all the way. Some nice graining is evident in various panels. I tried to capture this in the photos.
One interior pocket with the Inauguration patch. Thinsulate lining. Exterior top and side-entry handwarmer pockets. Snap collar and snap exterior pockets.
Regardless of your political orientation, this is a very well-made jacket with a great history. You might even consider it an investment piece as an example of rare political memorabilia.
Tagged size M but I swim in it, hence the sale. I'd say it fits more like a L (42-44). Please see measurements.
Chest: 24"
Shoulders: 22"
Sleeve: 22.5" (not including knits)
Length: 23" (from bottom of collar, not including knit waistband)
Asking $375, which includes CONUS shipping.
