I'm travelling to Osaka Japan next month for a week and will be buying a leather jacket there, if I can find something I like.

I really want to find a Colimbo Stockman's coat and hope I can find one in stock somewhere and one that fits.

We are staying in the Namba district so there appear to be plenty of cool clothing shops in our area as well as numerous used clothing shops so I feel I could get lucky.

Shops I plan to visit are, Hinoya, Organic Blue, Jelado West, The Flat Head ( out of business??) Real McCoy's, McFly (stocks Colimbo, Rainbow Country) and one or two others I am forgetting. I have a list as long as my arm for used clothing shops also.

Is there any other shops I should visit?

We are checking out the tourist spots also like Osaka Castle, America-Muri, Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine, Hozenji Yokocho (alley with traditional shops ect) and we will do a day trip to Nara and Kyoto.

Enjoy your stay in Osaka, Colin! I'm envious and I hope you find the best possible leather jacket! Please post some pictures of your visits to so many stores you plan on your trip here during or after your stay. Btw. I also really like this specific Colimbo jacket - please also tell us how the leather and construction, workmanship of Colimbo is compared to Rainbow Country

Will do Robbie. I plan on posting here what I find and will post some pictures.

I will be on the lookout for this Rainbow Country jacket also.

I am really hoping the used clothing stores will have some nice finds also.
I like this one, too. There a used black in size 38 on Yahoo auctions last weekend. I'll cross my fingers to you and I'm sure I'll find what you're searching for!

There are a few shops I visited that are not mentioned by you like MASH, Akido, Warehouse, UES, Samurai jeans and Studio d'Artisan. There are two Warehouse stores in Osaka. You have to check each store for their 定休日 meaning their regular weekly day off as well as special day off. For example, MASH closes on Wed, Warehouse at Shinsaibashi closes every Thurs but not the Warehouse at Umeda. If I were you, I would check the Lee stores as well because of the Japan market only Lee Archives.

The Hallo-win store is near the Osaka Museum of Natural History but I would not recommend going to the Museum because the descriptions on all the exhibits are in Japanese. The reason I point out the Hallo-win is I can see at McFly online shop that they probably don't have the RC you are looking for but the Hallo-win shop has a similar jacket by Double-Helix.

Thank you Blackadder!

I totally forgot about Lee Japan. Thanks for the tips about days the shops are closed also. I never would have thought about that and with my luck I would have showed up on the day they are closed. I would be some dumb white guy pressing my face up to the glass looking inside into a closed shop. Haha.

We are mostly walking and want to stay in the Namba district and we did think about the museum but decided to pass on it.

I am a size 40-42 depending on brand so I am unsure what will be around in my size for leather jackets. My main goal is to try and find that Colimbo jacket but we'll see what I can find. That Double Helix jacket is darn nice. I am not familiar with that brand so that will give me something to do and look into their products.

If anyone has recommendations on places to eat, I am all ears. I love Japanese food but oddly, I don't like sushi. I keep thinking of curry udon bowls like I used to get in Banff, here in Canada from a Japanese run noodle joint.

As for the used clothing shops, just pick a few that are close by. Some of the used clothing chains may carry some Buzz, McCoy's stuffs but it is like needle in a haystack. Much easier to search on the Yahoo Auction JP.
There are tons of used clothing shops and only a portion are dedicated to really vintage clothing and in that portion, most are just selling 70s-80s American clothings like jeans, duck pants, work coats, varsity jackets and Converse etc. I think MASH and Big Apple should cover the vintage shops part.

Thanks for the used clothing tips. There seems to be a ton of used clothing shops and checking them would take forever. I'll make note of the two you mentioned. Mash and Big Apple.

BBQ Beef not sushi is the main cuisine in Osaka. Another special cuisine in Osaka is puffer fish. Then there is the Osaka Okonomi-yaki and the Kushikatsu (as opposed to just Kushi).
Tempura with udon is also nice. Ramen is also pretty popular. Yakitori and Chicken wings with alcohol is also popular. If I don't have something special in mind, I would just go to the restaurant floor of department stores or shopping arcades. They have good restaurants in those department stores.
This is a popular site the Japanese use to search for restaurants.

Namba is a good district though I normally stay at Umeda. There is a section at Namba that is dedicated to toys and games like the Akihabara in Tokyo. There is also the Kuromon market but since you don't like sushi, I think you can take a pass.
I really would recommend going to MASH to get some repair parts like zippers and knit.

Osaka is amazing and the food is great. Unfortunately I have spent a lot more time in Tokyo than Osaka, so I don't have too many suggestions for stores there and I don't know where to find Colimbo there, but it looks like @Blackadder has you covered.

Enjoy it! Make sure to have some okonomiyaki and takoyaki

I think Colin got himself covered. The only real chance I see of getting Colimbo goodies is Jelado West but since he is planning to go to Kyoto, I'd suggest visiting Porky's if Jelado West fails.

Hope it works for him! Tokyo is definitely easier for finding leather jackets overall.

We chose Osaka over Tokyo because we figured it would not be so crazy or expensive. My wife wanted to go to Mexico but I chose Japan since I got to choose. She wanted sun and I wanted something different and I have always wanted to go to Japan. #1 on my bucket list. We can go to Mexico again any old time.

Finding a jacket is just a bonus if it happens but it is a mission of mine while I am there.

Not arguing with your choice at all. You'll have an amazing time. I'm just biased because I love Tokyo so much :D A lot of people prefer Osaka and Kyoto.
