No. Don’t go away. Unless it’s to actually go kite flying. Great fun in this social isolation and gets the kids out of the house. Long crazy history as well. Anyone else into this activity?

my son finally got it and figured out how to keep it in the air and get it there on his own.

My first kite as a boy actually came untethered and flew away!
last November my wife and I ended our motorhome travel for the year at Fort Casey in WA state. It has a huge open grass area behind the gunnery and windy. On our walk we stopped and watched a group of 6 kiters doing synchronized kiting. It was amazing to watch them...like kite ballet or synchronized swimming. They all had the same style kite but each in a different colour. There was one kiter that acted as the band leader and they all followed her lead...loops, figure 8's, cascades. It was mesmerizing.

2 1/2 and first time out... It was a very bright day and she actually kept it up. The kite-eating-tree only snacked twice.

I remember when I was little my father had a huge WWII box kite they used for target practice(?). He had rope on it and tied it to his waist. I haven't seen anything like that since.
