Hi everybody,

I went for a short trip to nothern France (Normandie, Bretagne). Along visiting several objectives (allied landing beaches, museums) I got through some Sunday flea markets in very nice little towns. There were only a few sellers of militaria, having mostly french stuff. Kind of expensive I guess, as some military leather belt from WW2 worn by higher ranking soldiers was about 60 eur.
What drew my attention were a couple of military tunics among which was smth that looked like a "M40" german one. I tried it on, it fit quite good. The left chest emblem was there (according web it is dated 1935-1938), the collar boards are from 1938 (indicate enlisted field trooper) and the metal buttons on the shoulders have engraved "4" (I guess 4'th regiment of something). On the inside lining the following is written in blue ink:
46 44
112
75 67
H39

4I JR26

The condition is very good, no holes, mothing, staining, bad smells. It was kept in a really good condition. The seller originally asked for 200 euros, a bit too pricey. Seeing that I was not really keen on leaving with it, he went to 120 eur. Which I guess is not that bad(though still exp) for an original, seeing the prices they go on eBay.
If you want I can post pictures. I hesitate for the moment as there is this madness / phobia for such type of artifacts/symbols displayed in public. Anyway this is a nice collectible.

One funny fact was that while I was trying on the tunic in the middle of all that crowd, the seller was freaking out. He told me that local population is not very keen on this matter. Also the law forbids it but anyway the prohibited symbols were covered with tape.
