Thinning my VANSON herd and will be rolling some jackets on here for the holidays. Brand new member so feel free to comment with helpful tips. All sizes listed will be the tag sizes, so if you need specific measurments ask away...I figure most VANSON fans will have a pretty good idea of how the stock sizes fit, and the "Vanson! Vanson! Vanson!" thread is a huge help in sizing and great reading. My VANSON size is 42 when wearing a T shirt, and I also have sizes up to 46 depending on how much cold weather layering I'm going to do.
PIT TO PIT 22"
PIT TO BOTTOM OF SLEEVE 18.5"
SHOULDER TO BOTTOM OF SLEEVE 25.5"
SHOULDER 19"
BACK RISE 23"
FRONT RISE 20"
HEM 20"
First one is I think an early 80's Model C?...predecessor to the C2? Correct me if I'm wrong and I'll update the thread if possible. Turqouise blue. Not sure if that's the correct color name because my VANSON color swatches are packed away in storage. Hard to get the color captured perfect...it sits somewhere between the mirror selfie and the rest of the pics. White tag says size 42. I'm the second owner and wore it once. Original owner maybe wore it once or twice. Very clean and minty condition, but with slight finish wear on one wrist...possibly closet wear from an accordian door rubbing against it? One stitch on one of the belt loops is slightly loose. Lastly, a little area on one shoulder where the finish is rubbed. I'll have close ups of these issues.
Lighter weight leather than more modern Competition Weight VANSON leather. I don't have a way to weigh it right now, but I'd swear it's close to half the weight of some of my other VANSONS, although most of them have leather lined pockets, etc. A lot of these older ones seem to not be as heavy duty as later jackets...stitching, zippers, reinforcing, etc. Makes me curious as to what year they started beefing them up. Great warm weather jacket, even with the quilted lining. A light sweater underneath makes it fine for colder weather. I'm 5'11", 150 lbs. and 42" chest and it fits me perfectly.
No idea of it's value, so I'll start with $500.00 shipped in the Continental US, and we'll see how that goes. PayPal or money order is great. I'm not set up for any of the other cash apps yet, but could certainly work towards that. I have extensive feedback on eBay, so I can direct you there if you shoot me a message, and then you can check out my reliability.
I don't always have a lot of free time, so the next jackets could show up at any time...just depends on how many breaks I get in the evenings. A few that are coming soon will be an Enfield in sort of a British Racing Green color, and a Team Jacket in dark blue. Stay tuned.
