FS: The Flat Head Delraiser - Size 42

Selling my Flat Head Delraiser in Shinki teacore horsehide in size 42. This is one of TFH's iconic jackets - heavy, character-filled horsehide that's built to last generations.

Specifications (from Self Edge website):

• 1.3mm Thick Horsehide from Japan's Famed Shinki Tannery
• Single-Brushed 100% Cotton Flannel Lining
• Vegetable Based Dye Tanned Horsehide
• Semi-Aniline Finish (The semi-aniline process is designed to keep the natural characteristics and quality of the Leather and to make it durable by combining dye and pigments. The term 'semi-aniline' comes from the mix of an aniline and pigment finish)
• Original Flat Head Produced Zipper
• Made in Japan (Including All Trim/Lining/Buttons/Zipper)

Details: This jacket was originally acquired in a trade with a fellow forum member and has been worn sparingly. The horsehide is only beginning to develop a patina with natural creasing at the elbows and the teacore leather showing through on cuff/zipper edges.

Since moving to the West Coast, the jacket is just not getting the wear it deserves, so I'm deciding to let go of it.

Ahh.. the Green label Delraiser. A grail within a grail. If it was a 38 would have done the deed. GLWS!!

The green label just indicates it’s an early model. They’ve been producing them annually for about a decade now, and the first few runs came with this label.

There is a difference between the earliest version, and the current ones. For one the leather in the earlier models is a bit more crinkley and heavier. The zippers also were Flat Head in stamped, the new ones the use Universal ykk repros and the chest pocket has the dangling diamond pull. The seams on the sleeves are also different, the newer one has a double stitch while the first edition has a single stitch design.

A couple of details but worth noting.

It’s a very nice jacket. Excellent points about the stitching. I’d much prefer the double stitch. I still find it a little odd that they didn’t go with that out the gate.

It's very nice. Also, to add to the difference in leather--the newest release with the double stitching, the leather is close to the greased leather of the HW001 , HS001 models. The color however is black. Not 100% greased to the degree of both those models but I'd say 70% close with a very nice hand.
