Hi all!
Selling my Schott 618HH in size 42R. Made in 2012, bought brand new approx. a year ago, worn daily - or at least whenever the temperatures allowed it - and I'd say that the jacket is half broken in. Stands on its own so it's still got some fight left in it. Other than that, the jacket is in impeccable condition. Literally not a scratch on it, anywhere, all zippers work, still has that new jacket smell, etc., etc.
When I got it, the jacket was so smooth and shiny that it looked like a PVC bag, people didn't believe me it was made of real leather and I felt pretty stupid about the whole thing, trying to explain how that's what horsehide's suppose to be like (something that I didn't believe myself), BUT as time went by, that ridiculous shine nearly disappeared, grain started to pop up. . . I know there was some talk about the questionable HH Schott was using and whatnot, and I can't speak for all of their jackets but this one is without any doubt one of the most beautiful jackets I've ever handled, and it just keeps getting better. I'm not just saying that only to sell it, I really, honestly mean it. I never once walk by it when I'm home, without throwing a glance at it. It is just beautiful, lying on its chair, infinitely more so than anything cow/steer Schott had ever made.
So, why the hell am I selling it, then? Sleeves. I wear Perfectos and I've bought this one hoping it'd be that ultimate one, but I find the sleeves to be just too short for my ape arms. So few months ago I've saved up some money again, bit the bullet and ordered a custom Aero - which came in the mail yesterday. All in all, I really and literally love that 618 and I feel sad I have to let it go but Aero's just a much better fit for me and... The way I see it, there's really no point in having two of these jackets.
What else? The jacket is located in Europe, or rather the EU, so European buyers don't need to worry about no customs or taxes. I'm asking for €300 / £250 or best offer, I guess.
I'll take some proper pictures of the jacket tomorrow and in the mean time, if you're interested as to how's it holding up against my old Aero 'Brando', here's a thread I've made some time ago, that's the very same jacket, only half a year younger - http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?74653-Aero-FQHH-Motorcycle-Jacket-vs-Schott-618HH
Click on the picture for an entire gallery with truckload of additional photos.
That's that I guess. Sorry for the long post, but I'd rather everything is clear and understood, and... I like to write. Cheers!
